The Planned Parenthood abortion business is defending its decision to take coronavirus relief funds meant for small businesses across America that are struggling due to the coronavirus.
Some 37 Planned Parenthood affiliates received the funds from the Paycheck Protection Program and Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties in California received the largest loan of $7.5 million.
Today, the abortion giant defended taking the funds even though Congress intended for them to go to small businesses as opposed to a $1 billion abortion corporation.
“Like many other local nonprofits and health care providers, some independent Planned Parenthood 501(c)(3) organizations applied for and were awarded loans under the eligibility rules established by the CARES Act and the Small Business Administration (SBA), which they met,” Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s vice president of government relations and public policy, Jacqueline Ayers, claimed in a statement.
But the abortion company doesn’t meet the funding criteria. The rules and regulations associated with the program specifically prohibited affiliates of larger organizations with more than 500 employees from applying. That covers Planned Parenthood as Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PFFA) alone has had more than 600 employees.
After reports that Planned Parenthood improperly and for and received the funds, the Small Business Administration (SBA) contacted each involved Planned Parenthood affiliate explaining that affiliates of larger organizations with more than 500 employees aren’t eligible for PPP distributions.
Ayers trashed the Trump administration and continued previous diatribes against President Donald Trump, beating the same drum the abortion business has beat since his election, claiming he hates women and that this is yet another attack on women and Planned Parenthood.
“This is a clear political attack on Planned Parenthood health centers and access to reproductive health care,” Ayers said. “It has nothing to do with Planned Parenthood health care organizations’ eligibility for COVID-19 relief efforts, and everything to do with the Trump administration using a public health crisis to advance a political agenda and distract from their own failures in protecting the American public from the spread of COVID-19.”
But the Trump administration is demanding Planned Parenthood return the funds and it may file criminal charges against employees of the abortion giant if they lied on the applications for funding.
